To avoid getting Linkedin/FB requests from people I don't remember, I’d recommend accompanying your request with a reminder of when and where we met. Also, it’s always helpful to use a profile picture that I can recognize. If we don't really know each other, but there's something you want to discuss, please just send me an e-mail instead.
